STUDIO THE BLUE BOY × QUILTO Slippers
A collaborative pair of slippers created by STUDIO THE BLUE BOY and the Japanese slipper brand QUILTO.
The upper fabric is made from 100% cotton Banshu-ori, the same textile used for the original sofa upholstery at The House of Blue Boy, a space operated by STUDIO THE BLUE BOY.
Banshu-ori is a yarn-dyed cotton textile produced mainly in the Nishiwaki area of Hyogo, Japan. By dyeing the yarns before weaving, the fabric achieves a soft depth of color and a nuanced texture that cannot be created through surface printing alone.
For this collaboration, the cotton fabric has been treated with a resin finish, giving it added durability while preserving the gentle touch and natural character of cotton.
The textile pattern is inspired by the landscape surrounding The House of Blue Boy: the open sky, quiet lake, forest trees, and the clear air that moves between them.
These elements are translated into abstract forms such as circles, squares, and ovals, layered together in a soft gradient that captures the atmosphere of the place. Designed as everyday indoor slippers, they also bring the presence of a small textile object into the home.

STUDIO THE BLUE BOYと、日本のスリッパブランド QUILTO によるコラボレーションスリッパ。
表面には、STUDIO THE BLUE BOYが手がける “The House of Blue Boy” のオリジナルソファにも使用されている、播州織の綿100%生地を採用しています。
播州織は、兵庫県・西脇を中心に発展してきた、日本を代表する綿の先染め織物産地のひとつ。糸を先に染色してから織り上げることで、表面的なプリントでは生まれない、奥行きのある色合いややわらかな風合いが生まれます。
本作では、その播州織生地に樹脂加工を施すことで、コットンならではのやさしい質感を残しながらも、日常使いに適した耐久性を持たせています。
テキスタイルに描かれているのは、The House of Blue Boy を取り囲む自然の景色。澄んだ空気、湖面の揺らぎ、森を抜ける風、木々の気配。
それらを円や四角、楕円といった抽象的なモチーフへと置き換え、複数の色彩がゆっくりと重なり合うグラデーションとして表現しました。室内履きでありながら、空間に置かれる小さなテキスタイルオブジェのような一足です。
