Square Tiles Woven Sashiko Blanket

Light blue, green, and brown are our favorite colors. This time, we specifically wanted to express our designs using jacquard weaving rather than prints, so we had the fabric woven at a textile factory located in Hyogo Prefecture, in the heart of Japan.
The name "sashiko blanket" has a special meaning. Sashiko is a traditional Japanese needlework technique that has been passed down through generations, involving stitching and darning fabric. For this blanket, we successfully wove together threads in a gradient of indigo and light blue, creating a beautiful atmosphere reminiscent of indigo dyeing.

水色、緑、そしてブラウンは私たちのお気に入りの色です。今回は特に、プリントではなくジャガード織を用いて表現したいと思い、兵庫県にある織物工場で生地を一枚一枚機械織りで織りあげました。

「刺し子ブランケット」という名前には、特別な意味があります。刺し子は、日本に古くから受け継がれている針仕事で、布地をつづり縫いや刺し縫いする技法です。今回のブランケットでは、藍色と薄い水色のグラデーションの糸を使って織り込むことで、まるで藍染を施したかのような美しい雰囲気を醸し出すことに成功しました。
